Number of Species: More than 100,000
Provinces: Almost all
Rarity: Depends on the specie, but arachnids are found commonly in general.
Average Size: Depends on the specie.
Description: Arachnids have eight legs as well as two pairs of appendages for feeding and defense. Unlike insects, they do not have antennae or wings. Their body is split into two sections: the prosoma and the opisthosoma (the abdomen).
Magical Abilities: Arachnids may or may not have magical abilities, depending on the specie and individual. Their magical abilities almost always help the arachnid reach a goal, whether it be survival or reproduction. Some magical abilities, like invisibility, may help an arachnid not get eaten – or eat! Others, like being able to change colors, help them attract a mate.
Examples of Arachids: Spiders, scorpions, ticks, sunspiders, harvestmen, and more.
